This Is Me.

I've always been a creative person. I've been doodling for as long as I can remember, Legos were my toy of choice, playing guitar was never about learning other's songs but creating my own, and now in my adult life – my passions and profession are rooted in the pursuit of creativity. 

Now, as for specifics about me, I'm a Creative Director by day for a large consultancy that's located around the world. I've had the great opportunity to work with some very large corporations and help them solve some of their most challenging business and design problems. I'm lucky to work with some very talented people and I find myself constantly pushing to be a better creative.

At nights and on weekends, I am an artist that paints oil landscapes of isolated objects found in nature and in my mind. It's an escape that gives me pure freedom to get lost in the places my mind takes me.

Some Clients.

I've been fortunate to have been able to work with some pretty great clients ranging in size, budgets, and time. In each instance, we were asked to step in and help solve a complex problem that impacted their clients. Whether it was changing the way they sold their product, making it easier for millions to update their information, or completely changing the way users navigate a website, each project brought it's own challenge and it's own rewards.  

The Process.

It all starts in my head. As I'm digesting the requirements, the situation, or idea – my mind is racing. I begin to visualize options and recall past experiences so that I can forge them together to create something unique and my own. 

Sometimes it's as simple as sitting down and sketching things out... other times it takes more iterations and a willingness to let things happen. Whether I'm building a dolly for a video shoot, constructing a closet, creating a design for a mobile interface, or forming a new idea for a painting –  transferring my ideas from my head to paper is where it all begins. After that, it's all about refine and destroy. I try to build things up and get them to a point that gives a clear direction, then I remove the unneceassary and repeat. Above all, I try not to allow myself to be afraid of being wrong.

Extracurriculars.

I enjoy sitting down with a cook book, glancing through the recipes then putting it away and "winging it", hoping that what I create is edible (in most cases I luck out and it's palettable). 

Painting is a passion of mine and I try to have a couple pieces going at any given time. My focus has been on using only the palette knife and large canvases but occasionally I'll dabble with a small canvas and a single subject.

In addition to these and many other things I do to pass the time, I can be found on my road bike, relaxing in a park somewhere, or meeting my friends for a cocktail and a few laughs.
